Welcome to Rose V. Johnson Flute Performance Studio!
Rose Johnson is currently living, teaching and performing in the Puget Sound
area of Washington State. She has taught flute for 22 years. Rose received her Bachelor of Arts degree in
Instrumental Music Performance from Northern Arizona University. She received her Master of Music degree from the University
of Washington. As a freelance performer, she has performed a number of recitals and is a member of the Ivory Winds Ensemble.
She has also performed with the Seattle Philharmonic, the Rainier Symphony, and the Sammamish Symphony. Rose is involved
in teaching a variety of students, conducting a student flute choir and is a previous board member of the Seattle Flute Society,
having acted as Secretary (1997-1999) and Masterclass / Competition Coordinator (2001-2005). Rose has also coached with the
Seattle Youth Symphony's Marrowstone-in-the-City Summer Music program and the Bellevue Youth Symphony. Her
flute instructors have included Erich Graf, Janice Tipton, Philip Swanson, Felix Skowronek and Pamela Ryker. She has
also received instruction from Scott Goff, Alexa Still, and Patricia George. Rose has been a member of the National
Flute Association's Professional Flute Choir in 2008, 2010 and 2011.
