Il Pastore Svizzero (The Swiss Shepherd), was composed by Pietro Morlacchi in 1850 during his time at the Conservatory of Music in Milan under the guidance of Giuseppe Rabboni. It quickly became one of his most famous pieces, with many different versions and arrangements. Additionally, this piece is often incorrectly attributed to Francesco Morlacchi, a famous opera composer who lived around the same time as Pietro Morlacchi. This mistake has carried into the modern day, with many arrangements still attributing the work to Francesco Morlacchi, despite Pietro Morlacchi being officially recognized as the composer of the piece.

He learned that he had a passion for Music when he was nine. He went to the University of Halle and continued to study music. Then in the early 1700s, he wrote the Flute Sonata Number 2 which I will play. I am playing the andante section of it so it is very slow and mellow but gets a bit more exiting at the end.
