Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras (auditions in August) - https://syso.org/  Founded in 1942, Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra (SYSO) is the largest youth orchestra training program in the United States. The organization serves over 1,893 diverse students each year with five orchestras, two summer festival programs, and extensive partnerships with local public schools. No age minimum up to 21. February - WMEA All-State/All-Northwest - https://wmea.org/ (select the "Student Events" menu). Open to all students enrolled in WMEA registered middle/high school bands/orchestras. Band/orchestra director records and submits auditions. (auditions due in October). 

March - Seattle Flute Society, Horsfall Competition www.seattleflutesociety.org/horsfall-competition ). Final round competition for top 20 upper and lower division students (grades 6-12) chosen from recorded preliminary round (preliminary auditions due in January). Guest adjudicator performs and the results announced the day after the finals.

March - Seattle Young Artists Music Festival - https://www.syamfa.org/  For any intermediate to advanced level student (grades 5-12) wishing to participate. Involves performance and personal adjudication in a class setting. Also includes a concerto competition for advanced students. (registration due December-January).

Marrowstone Music Festival - https://syso.org/programs/marrowstone/ A musician’s experience at Marrowstone will include a daily 9-5 schedule full of rehearsals, chamber music, and the opportunity to study with our world-class faculty in daily masterclasses and coachings. Students will share both large-scale orchestral works and smaller chamber performances with communities both in and outside of Seattle in the Festival’s culminating concerts. 

Bonita Boyd International Masterclass - https://summer.esm.rochester.edu/course/bonita-boyd-international-flute-masterclass/  A five-day intensive study featuring daily flute master classes led by legendary Eastman pedagogue Bonita Boyd. Flutists will be exposed to a unique and comprehensive curriculum, beginning with a solo recital from Professor Boyd and continuing with intensive study of orchestral excerpts and solo flute repertoire. Participants will attend lectures on the music profession and perform on one of two Participant Concerts at the end of the week.

Presented by Hidden Valley Music Seminars in beautiful Carmel Valley, NCFC offers a comprehensive camp experience by combining first-rate musical training with outdoor activities in the prime of California's physical surroundings.
